ESSENTIAL FOODS makes healthy, nutritious cat and dog food with local and UK sourced ingredients.

Created with the vision of extending the life of your pets and for those of you who share a love of the countryside, their meals contain the highest quality ingredients including grass-reared British lamb, Scottish Angus beef and free-range venison.

The founder, Christian Degner-Elsner has years of experience in the pet food industry, and in 2011 sold Scandinavia's largest privately owned pet food company. His new venture was going to be one that could also be used as a tool to support the charitable causes that matter to him. In addition, a major challenge was the question of how to invent a meal that would positively affect the quality of life through a more balanced behaviour. 2 years of development later, ESSENTIAL FOODS was born.
