The Glasshouse
Sustainable House Plants
The Glasshouse is a Social Enterprise that delivers beautiful houseplants direct to your door, all grown and nurtured by women in UK prisons. As the country’s only not-for-profit plant installation provider, The Glasshouse offers houseplants, bespoke corporate gifting, and design-led plant installations for homes, offices, and hospitality spaces.
Every plant is cultivated by women nearing release at East Sutton Park prison in Kent, where they gain horticultural training and earn the National Living Wage. Profits are reinvested to expand training and employment programmes, helping reduce reoffending by supporting secure housing and jobs after release. The Glasshouse’s team has won an RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal and maintains a 0% reoffending rate among graduates.
Clients receive ethically grown, plastic-free packaged plants, with options for custom tags and care advice. The Glasshouse also runs potting workshops and seasonal ESG-focused installations, all designed and maintained by a skilled team including ex-offenders and award-winning designers. Founded by Melissa and Kali, The Glasshouse is transforming lives and workspaces through the power of plants.
